Allstate now has online and text alerts for those who want to have fast updates on the weather forecast. Hurricane season is coming up and now it is said by weather forecasters that as many as 18 named storms can impact surrounding communities. It has been predicted by Colorado State University storm-prediction experts that at least half of those storms will turn into hurricanes. Due to this season, Allstate decided to step up to plate in the effort of alerting communities across the country of these dangerous natural disasters.
Allstate believes getting ready for these disasters is an important step to protect people from harm. “Preparing now, before the weather turns serious, is a family’s best defense,” explained Roman Suarez, a 17-year member and manager of Allstate’s National Catastrophe Team. Take the time to put together a special emergency kit for events such as a natural disaster, hit the road and practice an escape route out of town and to a safe place, take pictures of belongings and sign up to Allstate Alerts to pay attention to possible bad weather reports.
